Back on the grind in Memphis

We finally decided to return to the blog even though we returned from Peru in July. Since that time, we have been blessed with the opportunity to move into the Mitchell Heights neighborhood of Memphis. We have also been blessed with a loving community of fellow believers with whom we share fellowship, worship, food, and struggles. There are many challenges facing this neighborhood, but our God specializes in using his people to bring light into darkness. We hope to relate our experiences here not day by day, but revelation by revelation. Our hope is that by abiding in Christ, we will be continually transformed into his image so that this neighborhood and its people will be tangibly touched by the Gospel. We want to leave old desires for God's desires. We want the transformed people here to join in with the advancing kingdom of God.

The street on which we live presents us with the unique obstacles which God has prepared for us beforehand. There are four racial groups, children, twenty-somethings, and elderly people. Each presents unique challenges. In the blogs that follow, we will try to relate what God is doing here and offer specific prayer needs. What beautiful things can happen when people that follow Jesus make requests to him for their brothers and sisters!

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Please pray that we will hear clearly from the Holy Spirit and let him use us the way that most delights him.
